French First Lady, Valerie Trieweiler, visited on Tuesday Syri Art Exhibition at Beirut Expo Center, held in support of Syrian refugee children. Mrs. Trieweiler visited the Expo in the company of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrice Paoli, within the framework of her visit to Lebanon to have a closer look at the heartrending situation of Syrian refugees, notably children. The French First Lady was greeted at the Expo by Mrs. Noura Jumblatt and "Solidere" Company Director General, Mounir Doweidi. Touring the various pavillions of said exhibition, Mrs. Trieweiler listened to a demonstration by Mrs. Jumblatt on the works of art and the intensive participation in said expo by scores of artists from the various countries, in the aim of providing assistance to the Syrian refugees, whose number is estimated at one million and two hundred thousand people, including five hundred thousand children. Trieweiler expressed admiration for such a huge exhibition that aims at supporting a humanitarian matter and whose full proceeds would go to refugees. Trieweiler affirmed her support to the Syrian refugees and assisting Lebanon in facing up to such a challenge which goes beyond its capacity.
