Mohamed Al-Arabi Ould Khalifa, Speaker of the People's National Assembly of Algeria, has invited Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, to visit Algeria and discuss ways to enhance friendly relations and exchange views on regional and international issues.
Saleh Atiya, Ambassador of Algeria to the UAE, delivered the official invitation to Al Qubaisi at her office.
During the meeting, the duo discussed ways to enhance parliamentary relations between the UAE and Algeria to achieve the aspirations of their leaderships and people.
Al Qubaisi lauded the fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
She also spoke about the agenda of the Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th December in Abu Dhabi.
The overall theme of the summit is ‘United for Shaping the Future’, she noted, adding that the gathering will focus on the role that women speakers can play in uniting parliamentarians around national and political interests to deliver sustainable prosperity and security.
The Algerian envoy congratulated Al Qubaisi on being elected as the first woman to head a legislative body in the Middle East and the Arab region.
