UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Johannes van der Klaauw visited on Friday the Belgian capital to shed light on the critical humanitarian conditions in Yemen.

Klaauw said it is difficult to carry foodstuffs into Yemen due the conflict in the war-torn country.

He added that the airstrikes worsened the situation in Yemen, noting that 12 million people are currently in need of humanitarian aid compared to 10 million in 2010.
