Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the ministry organizes a visit for the permanent delegates of the UN Security Council member states to Egypt from May 20 to 22.
The visit is the first of its kind under Egypt's presidency of the UNSC, he said.
The visit reflects the importance of joint coordination between the UN and Arab League to promote international peace and security in accordance with the Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter, Abu Zeid said.
During their visit, the permanent delegates of the UNSC member states will hold a meeting with their counterparts at the Arab League, with AL Secretary General Nabil El Arabi participating, he added.
They will exchange views on several Arab issues tabled on the UNSC's agenda, topped by the Libyan crisis, the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and the situation in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Somalia, the spokesman said.
