Aden - Arab Today
Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin Daghr arrived Thursday in Al Mukalla, capital of the eastern Yemeni governorate of Hadhramaut, coming from the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
A government source said the Yemeni Prime Minister arrived in Al Mukalla accompanied by a number of ministers on a short during which he will get briefed on the situation and developments in the city as well as the needs of its citizens and requirements of revitalizing the state's services and economic institutions, noting that Bin Daghr will leave the city this evening after he met with a number of government, military and security leaderships.
This is the first visit by a Yemeni official after Houthi and Saleh troops' rebellion against the legitimate authorities in the country.
The visit of the Yemeni Prime Minister coincides with a powerful car bomb explosion which targeted a coastguard forces checkpoint near the city's main sea port.
Yemeni army forces, with the support of the Arab coalition, managed over the past weeks to liberate the city of Al Mukalla and its outskirts and to recapture the state's civil and military institutions from Al Qaeda militants.
