Egyptian metro halt

Sixteen people have suffered fainting spells due to overcrowding in a Metro train between Mohamed Naguib and Saddat stations during a halt, said the health ministry on Monday.

Of them, 12 were treated on the spot while four others were carried to hospitals, said the ministry.

The Metro Line 2 was caused to a halt earlier today following a train brake malfunction.

The passing of some commuters on the railway between two stations complicated the problem.

Later, normal service was resumed.
