Two new cases of Middle East Respiratory SyndromeCorona-Virus (MERS-CoV) have been detected in Al-Zarqa city , east of Jordan, theJordanian Health Ministry revealed here Monday.The victims are reportedly a Saudi male and his Jordanian doctor that was treatinghim.The latest cases brought the total number of Jordanians diagnosed with the severerespiratory disease since 2012 to eleven , according to state news agency, Petra.Petra further cited Health Ministry official, Mohammad Abdallat, as saying that the25-year-old Saudi man was being treated at a private hospital in the capital, Amman.“The Jordanian medic, 28, got infected while he was treating the Saudi patient. He isin a stable condition,” said Abdallat, who heads the ministry’s communicablediseases unit.MERS first emerged in 2012 and is mostly focused on Saudi Arabia, where it haskilled 107 people so far, according to health officials in the Persian Gulf kingdom.
