Amman - Petra
The Al Hussein Cancer Centre and the Specialty Hospital on Saturday signed an education and training cooperation agreement.
Under the deal, the two medical institutions will exchange resident doctors who are specialists working under programmes accredited by the Arab Board for Medical Specialisation and the Jordan Medical Board with the aim of acquiring the higher specialisation certificate.
Al Hussein Cancer Centre Director General, Assem Mansour, said after signing the agreement with Specialty Hospital Director Fawzi Hammouri that it was a result of the existing cooperation among medical sectors, stemming from their keen interest to develop skills at home and provide best medical services to Jordanian and Arab patients and develop medical tourism in the country.
Hammouri said the agreement enables doctors in both centres to acquire additional experience through practice and training on various cases being treated at both centres and to benefit from the expertise of consultants accredited for training.
"The agreement is an advanced model and practical application of cooperation among the educational medical institutions in the Kingdom. It would enrich this cooperation and provide the new generation of doctors with the necessary expertise at a level compatible with international training standards," Hammouri added.
