The second edition of the Forensic Medicine Conference opened yesterday at the Arabian Gulf University. Over 500 medical students and doctors from Bahrain and the GCC member states are attending the event which focuses on key issues including forensic medicine, sexual violence and child exploitation. College of Medicine Dean Dr. Khaldoun Al-Roumi addressed the opening ceremony, stressing the AGU drive to promote scientific events and activities for students. Organising Committee Chairman Omar Al-Jarallah stressed the importance of the forensic medicine in the region as a key academic specialty which helps determine the causes of deaths, types of injuries, cases of physical and sexual violence to achieve justice and ensure people their rights. Forensic Medecine Consultant and legal examiner to Dubai Police and Court Professor Fawzi bin Omrane highlighted the principles offorensic medicine. Forensic Dental Consultant Dr. Suhayel Al-Amad, BDF Hospital Senior Forensic Consultant Hani Jahshan and other prominent experts also addressed the conference.
