Ebola drill tests

Bahrain’s readiness to deal with Ebola disease will be spotlighted in a comprehensive evaluation study to be conducted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in cooperation with its regional bureau in the Middle East, Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Care and Public Health Dr. Meriam Al Jalahma said.
A WHO team of experts will visit Bahrain from November 9 to 11 to assess readiness at Bahrain International Airport, Salmaniya Medical Complex, health centres and the Public Health and Epidemic Detection Laboratory.
The team will evaluate Bahrain’s contingency plan to prevent Ebola disease from reaching Bahrain and deal with any case in the event of its detection in the kingdom. A comprehensive report with recommendations will be submitted to the Health Minister by the team at the end of the visit.
