Kim Kardashian predictably broke yet another American fairy-tale wedding dream. 72-days, was enough for this sultry socialite of Hollywood to find out that her prince charming was yet to come and Kris, whom she had wed in a marriage that came with numerous million dollar deals, was "a mistake". But, divorce anyways isn't a big deal at all for west. There are incalculable Hollywood couples who have gotten married on a whirlwind, uniting their bonds even before one can digest their ties at first place. And noticeable part here is, as we religiously adopt the slices of western culture and make them our own; comfort with getting out of marriages and the process of divorce is establishing itself in India as well. Psychologist Kamayani Mathur says, "We have always lived under the western influences and it's no news that now we are also taking the bond of marriages less seriously than we've always been taking. Often we fail to understand that their psyche is formed like that for all their bringing up years where commitments in relationships are always at loose ends. But looking at them, we are also picking that - it's okay to divorce yourself out of a marriage if it's not working well. Even a single divorce had always been a big deal in traditional country like ours, but things are changing. And the change is both good and bad in nature." Actor Shraddha Nigam, who was married for a brief time with actor Karan Grover, says, "It's not about east or west but it's about prioritizing and I think with changing times, our priorities are also changing. I think everything can work if you really want it to work, but people in our country now have their other concerns lined up than putting efforts in making their not-so-good-going marriages work. And though I do believe there also lays the west influence in this, but still I'll say it's a universal human thing."
