Minister of Health Abdelmalek Boudiaf

The draft revision of the health code will be finalized before the end of the year, said Monday in Algiers the Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abdelmalek Boudiaf.
Speaking at the national radio, Boudiaf stated the draft revision of the code of health would be finalized after being discussed by social partners and before the end of 2014.
The revision of this code aims to strengthen health services for citizens, said the minister, adding that the new health code will consider proposals made by participants in the national conference on health, held by the ministry in June last.
A commission was set up to collect recommendations made during the conference to submit them as "clauses" to the national commission in charge of preparing the draft revision of the code of health, Boudiaf stressed.
According to the minister, the ministerial program includes the construction of nine new projects of hospital facilities, of which 5 will be launched in September.
Regarding appointments for radiotherapy, the minister stated that the problem of late appointments would be resolved by the end of the year.
For this sake, new anticancer centers with advanced medical equipment including radiotherapy machines will open in some provinces of the country, he affirmed.
