China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) revoked the licenses of nine drug producers for manufacturing fake medicine and selling cough medicine known to be addictive.

According to a CFDA statement on Friday, two Traditional Chinese Medicine manufacturers in Yulin city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were caught faking drugs.

Their licenses were revoked, and those responsible persons were banned from the medical business for ten years.

Seven pharmaceutical companies in Chongqing were found to be selling compound codeine phosphate, an addictive drug, to unqualified companies and individuals.

The seven transgressors were deprived of their licenses.
