Egypt stressed on Monday that the goal of zero hunger in Africa and across the globe can not be compromised under any political consideration.
The assertion came in a tweet by the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid, as the world is celebrating the World Food Day (WFD).
The celebration every year around the world on October 16 is in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
It was established by the FAO member countries at the Organization's 20th General Conference in November 1979.
