Egypt’s Ambassador to Burundi Yasser Ragab delivered to the Burundian government a consignment of medical assistance, offered by Egypt’s Awan Heart Center (AHC) of the Magdy Yaacoub Foundation (MYF), the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
The aid was coordinated with The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development; a body affiliated with the Foreign Ministry, according to the statement.
It came to meet the Burundi government’s needs of Egyptian medical equipment, it said.
The assistance was consisted of two Sonar-system equipment; one for the military hospital in Burundi and the second for a hospital belonging to a charity organization; Amahoro, the statement added.
Egypt delivered the aid at a ceremony held at the HQs of the Egyptian Embassy in Bujumbura, with a number of senior officials of the Burundi medical and health sectors attending.
During the ceremony, the Egyptian envoy highlighted the assistance came as part of distinguished Egyptian-Burundi relations in the various domains. Egypt fully supports Burundi’s pro-development efforts, he underlined.
