Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beni Suef Alaa Ezzat

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beni Suef Alaa Ezzat on Saturday denied media reports that two infants have died after being injected with an intravenous solution.

In statements on Saturday, Ezzat asserted that the ministry has suspended the use of "Rehydran" as of July 25, the medication used in all hospitals, until further tests are conducted on the medicine.

The news is totally bare of truth, he said, urging media outlets to seek accuracy and not to create confusion.

On Friday, the ministry announced that Rehydran solution, blamed for last week’s deaths of two children, “does not meet health specifications and standards.”
