Ebola outbreak

Japan will provide up to $100 million in additional humanitarian assistance to Ebola-hit West Africa, the government said Friday, according to Kyodo.
The grant aid comes on top of $40 million Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pledged at the U.N. General Assembly in New York in September to combat the deadly virus.
"The spread of Ebola has been a threat to international peace and security," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a press conference. "The situation remains severe, so we have made the decision to accelerate assistance".
