Talal al-Hajeri

Contracts for the expansion of two hospitals in Sudan, worth a total USD 679,000, have been signed by Kuwait's Ambassador Talal Al-Hajeri.
The Kuwaiti government had put forward the amount, which will be used in constructing two extra floors in the Kuwait Specialised Hospital in Khartoum and for expanding the Kuwait Children's Hospital in the eastern state of Kassala.
The contract was signed in Khartoum in the attendance of Sudan's Health Minister Bahar Abu Garda and the Kuwaiti medicine-focused charity which supervises the running of the hospital, Patients Helping Fund Society.
As for the Kuwait Specialised Hospital the expansion, which has been given a deadline of 150 days, will double the number of accommodated patients.
Some USD 446,000 will be put forward to the project, with the remaining USD 233,000 used for the Kuwait Children's Hospital project.
For his part, Minister Abu Garda expressed gratitude for Kuwait's "continuing humanitarian generosity" towards Sudan.
