Kuwait emergency service got 1st ambulance 1949

Kuwait emergency medical service, since purchasing the first ambulance in December 1949, has made strides in providing medical and humanitarian aid, saving lives of many patients and injured in the country.
The first bought ambulance was a Ford, model 1949. It was put into service for the Amiri Hospital.
The vehicle used to be driven by specially trained staff who worked shift hours. In some serious cases, nurses would be on board to provide first aid and other support for the transported case in need for rapid attention.
