Health Minister Ali Hasan Khalil banned Monday the sale of certain child medications. A statement issued by the Health Ministry said Khalil banned licenses for the sale of Febrectol fever-reducing suppositories as well as Trophires cough suppositories due to their adverse effects on infants under the age of 30 months who have a history of \"epilepsy, febrile convulsion or anorectal lesions.\" The Health Ministry\'s statement explained that the ban follows a recommendation by the European Medicines Agency. It added that the decision will take effect as soon as it is published in the official gazette.
