Health Minister Ali Hasan Khalil prohibited the sale of a medical product called campho-pneumine Thursday, saying the medicine contained substances that could harm infants. According to a statement released by his office, Khalil issued a decision to cancel the registration of campho-pneumine Aminophyline nourrissons 8, a suppository, and to prohibit its sale in local pharmacies. It added that the minister tasked a pharmaceutical inspections team to execute the decision. The minister\'s decision was based on law 1/301 issued on March 20, 2012, that stipulates the cancellation of all medical products that are taken in the form of suppositories and include derivatives of terpenes, which harms infants.
