Liberia's Ministry of Health says 4,465 cases of Ebola were recorded in the country as of Oct. 18, since the outbreak in March 2014.
The Director of Health Communication, John Sumo, in an Ebola update issued in Monrovia, the nation's capital city said between Oct. 17 and Oct. 18, 98 Ebola patients were discharged after testing negative for the virus.
Sumo named Montserrado, Bong and Margibi as red flag counties where the virus is concentrated.
According to him the situation in Montserrado is hampered by community resistance and secret burials without the involvement of designated burial teams.
Sumo however, said this hurdle is being overcome with the establishment of Community Watch Teams and leaders to monitor and report actions that undermine the response efforts of government.
The World Health Organization has warned of a continuously deteriorating situation in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone where more than 4,500 people have been killed by the disease.
