There is no need to avoid pregnancy after taking the measles vaccine, officials have confirmed.
Oman's Ministry of Health has denied a rumour that women should abstain from pregnancy for six months after taking the measles vaccine, that is currently being administered to all citizens aged 20-35 in Oman as part of an ongoing Mumps-Measles-Rubella (MMR) vaccination drive.
"After taking the vaccine, you only have to wait four weeks before pregnancy," officials said. The Ministry also confirmed that the MMR vaccine is safe for women immediately post pregnancy, as well as for women who are breastfeeding.
Officials also called for the public to check for credibility before circulating any information
