A municipality of the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya on Wednesday destroyed around 12,500 turkeys over infection of bird flu.
Random samples of the birds in the governorate's Matay district tested positive to the H5N8 avian flu.
Proactive measures were taken to safely cull the poultry and clean the sites in the effected areas.
