Egypt's Health Ministry on Monday said a new bird flu case was detected in the upper Egyptian province of Minya.
A woman, 30 years of age, from Minya's Beni Mazar was reported as affected with the H5N1.
According to the ministry statement, the number of infections rose to seven cases during 2014.
The ministry bodies are currently taking necessary procedures to follow up the case's relatives, the statement said.
On Sunday, two other human infections were reported in Minya and Assiut.
