Qatar Charity

Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has received a QR 100,000 appreciated donation from Qatar Charity (QC) to contribute to the Sixth Disaster Management Camp (DMC-6), which enhances the culture of disaster preparedness in the Qatari society.
According to the agenda of DMC, which is implemented by 45 specialized trainers, the participants will receive comprehensive information about disaster management and international concepts such as Sphere standards, psychological support, the international humanitarian law, secure access, and restoring family links.
They will also be trained in field assessment and coordination; health care; water and sanitation; food and distribution; sheltering, registration, and logistics; and media.
This year, the camp is expected to attract up to 350 participants from inside and outside of Qatar. Invitations were sent to more than 20 MENA National Societies, in coordination with many Qatari government and nongovernment organizations, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations (UN), and the Secretariat-General of the Cooperation Council for Arab States of the Gulf.
Commenting on this support, Rashid bin Saad Al-Mohannadi, Director of QRC Social Development Department and DMC Manager, valued QC's cooperation with QRC in many programs and activities, describing this initiative as not new for such an organization with long track record of charity as QC.
This contribution, he said, strengthens partnership and humanitarian cooperation and helps build the preparedness culture in the Qatari society to make it ready for any unexpected emergencies.
Al-Mohannadi added that the efforts of QRC and all participants in DMC contribute to the national capacity building in a systematic manner that aligns with the priorities of Qatar National Vision 2030, seek a stable life in society, and cope with the latest developments in disaster preparedness and response in the world.
DMC has established itself as an event that distinguishes QRC not only inside Qatar, but also across the region. Awaited by many local and international government and nongovernment organizations, it is the only specific training of such a level to be introduced in Arabic.
