The Saudi Health Ministry on Tuesday reported a new infection of coronavirus.

The number of cases infected with the virus has hit 1,006, it said.

As many as 440 of those infected died since the emergence of the disease in the kingdom in 2012.

The ministry said 559 cases have been discharged from hospitals, while six others are still under treatment.
