The municipality has launched a food safety campaign and increased the number of food inspectors after 1,120 food establishments were fined for violating safety rules. \"We have increased the number of food inspectors to check whether the food products are spoilt due to the rising temperature during the summer,\" said Sultan Al Mualla, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality. Al Mualla said the main task of inspectors is to ensure the efficiency of refrigerators and freezers that store food.
