The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have confirmed the first diagnosis of Ebola in the United States, according to local media in Dallas, Texas, where the patient remains in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
The patient is believed to have traveled to West Africa, where the Ebola outbreak has caused an epidemic, killing almost 3,000 people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The CDC is expected to hold a press conference from its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday evening.
