Kuwaiti Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Association organizes here on Saturday a workshop for molecular imaging of the breast, in which a group of elite doctors, physicists and technicians will take part.
Head of the Kuwaiti Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Association and a consultant at the nuclear medicine imaging in Kuwait Cancer Control Center, Dr. Fahd Marafie said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the one-day workshop would see participation of elite specialists from the United States, Britain and Germany.
Marafie said that the molecular imaging is a specialty that includes nuclear medicine and radiology and is based on knowing a particular molecule or substance used as a target for imaging tissue or tumor and find out about its functions such as its growth, activity or response to treatment.
He said he is proud of the Kuwait Cancer Control Center, which is one of the few centers in the world which is characterized by using molecular imaging of the breast.
