Zayed Giving Initiative

The Zayed Giving Initiative has opened the door for national administrative and medical staffs at public and private hospitals to volunteer to assist the UAE Voluntary Medical Team, which is providing humanitarian, curative, preventive and training programmes in Nepal following the devastating recent earthquake.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Head of the UAE Voluntary Medical Team said, "The registration for volunteering aims at availing an opportunity for local cadres to participate in the humanitarian mission to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the earthquake and to acquire field skills."

On his part, Dr. Abdullah Shehab, consultant cardiologist, professor at UAE University and member of the voluntary medical team said, "The initiative offers an unprecedented opportunity for doctors to volunteer, so as to save lives and rescue people there," adding that a number of training sessions, in which over 10,000 volunteers enrolled, have already been held.
