At least 15 people were killed Wednesday during deadly clashes that erupted between residents and gunmen in Kufra city in southeastern in Libya .

Nine residents, including a four-year disabled child, were shot during the clashes, a local official said.

The battle is continuing in the area where small and medium-caliber weapons are used by both sides.

A nearby airport is out of order because of the threats.
