The Iraqi Ministry of Interior said Sunday that 164 people were killed in August 2012 due to terrorist attacks. The latest of these attacks was a car explosion that took place in Baghdad yesterday, Saturday, and killed two people, with 11 more injured. The figure of August was considerably less than that of July when 325 were killed. The July figure was the highest in Iraq in the last two years. Iraqi Ministry of Interior said that al Qaeda was responsible for what the Ministry said was coordinated assaults.
