A statement by the National Defense Ministry said that, the Algerian Army conducted a search operation in Mesila governorate in northeastern of Algeria, which led to the explosion of 4 handmade bombs. The army also managed to arrest 8 smugglers and 44 illegal immigrants of different nationalities in Adrar, Bachar and Ouargla governorates, south of Algeria.

The statement added that, coast guard units also managed to foil illegal immigration attempts for at least 48 persons, who were on handmade boats.
