Four soldiers from the Algerian army were injured during a sweeping campaign in the mountainous area of Baskara province, where a land mine exploded in front of them, a local security source told Arabstoday. The source added that three of the injured soldiers have minor wounds, while the fourth was critically injured. All four of them were sent to a local hospital. Baskara is known to be one of the areas where the militant Islamist groups hide out, as it is hard for the security forces to reach them due to the mountains. The same area witnessed a similar incident a week ago, where a land mine exploded leaving two soldiers dead and five injured.
