Israel\'s former Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said he had offered the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the day he moved from the presidential palace to Sharm El Sheikh, treatment in Israel. Mubarak refused the treatment in Eliat and raged saying “I am Egyptian.. born here and will receive treatment here.. I will not go elsewhere.”  Ben-Eliezer revealed in an interview today with the Al Sonara newspaper, which is issued in Israel in Arabic, that the chief reason Mubarak was overthrown was his attempt to bequeath the presidency to his son. He condemned what he called \"the way the Egyptians are treating Mubarak\", saying the ousted president was a \"great and major leader\" that should not be treated in such a way, especially with his \"illustrious career\".  The issue of Mubarak’s treatment in Israel has been mentioned many times in Arab and Israeli media after Mubarak’s resignation, but this is the first time Ben-Eliezer has admitted making the offer after the revolution.
