Calm returned to the northern Lebanese-Syrian border on Wednesday morning, after clashes on the Syrian side of the border stopped. Security sources told Arabstoday that the clashes that took place inside Syria was horrific as various types of artillery weapons, missiles and bullets were used to target the Lebanese villages in Al-Arida town.  Among those injured was injuring teenager Samer Khaled, who was shot in the neck while he was sleeping on the roof of his house. He was moved to Youssef Hospital in Halba for treatment. In Bekaa Valley Tuesday evening, unknown assailants riding in three convoys kidnapped Hassan Mohammed from his home and fled to an unknown destination. In Hamra area in Beirut, the capital, a drunken Syrian citizen named locally as Thaer Fadel was stabbed to death by his Syrian companion. He was transferred to a hospital but died shortly after while the killer, who was suspended 3 days ago for excessive use of alcohol, escaped to an unknown destination.
