The German government said it will dispatch 35 experts to Baghdad as part of a new civilian EU mission to support security reform in Iraq, the German media center in Egypt said in a statement on Monday. 

The task of the civilian mission experts will be to support Iraqi state institutions in the civilian sphere of combating terrorism, corruption and political instability. 

The Iraqi Interior Ministry will plan the steps for institutional reform in the security sector, the statement said.

The well-experienced German Federal Police Officer Markus Ritter was nominated as the head of the mission.

Markus Ritter has already supported international missions in countries like Southern Sudan and Afghanistan.
