Head of the Algerian National Front, Moussa Touati continues with his hunger strike in the party headquarters in protest against the results of the parliamentary elections, until the Constitutional Council announces the final results of the elections, within the next few hours. The Algerian National Front won one seat before the Constitutional Council took it and gave it to the National Democratic Rally Party led by the director of the presidential office.
Moussa Touati said in a press statement that his ready to starve himself to death in protest for these results and he doesn’t care about social media comments that are calling this strike “Covers’ strike”. On the other hand, head of the Social Front Party Khalid Bounjema said that he might suspend his strike after the emergency meeting of the National Secretariat of the Party because he was hospitalized on Saturday as he suffers from high blood pressure and high blood sugar.
Mohamed Ben Guissé Fouad is also on hunger strike because the official authorities refused to license his party “The Youth Party”. It is expected that the Constitutional Council will announce the results of the dismissal of the appeals received by the candidates and parties participating in May 4 legislations.
