Israeli military warplanes on Wednesday set off a series of sonic bombs over the Gaza Strip spreading terror and panic among local residents. According to Palestinian (WAFA) news agency, Human rights groups described the sonic attack as a \'terrifying collective punishment.\' Sonic bombs are extremely loud and cause both physical and mental harm to the population as well as damage to property. On the other hand, a Palestinian women was critically injured on Wednesday when Israeli soldiers stationed along the borders with the Gaza Strip opened fire at an area east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Witnesses said Safiya Abu Mughesib, 41, was injured in the abdomen and foot when Israeli soldiers opened fire at Wadi Salqa area near Deir al-Balah. Mughesib was reported in a critical condition and was transferred to the hospital for treatment.
