King Mohammed VI flew to France on Monday for a “private visit,” according to Moroccan news outlet Alyaoum24 said.
The news site reported that the monarch flew to France from the Tetouan airport following a ceremony of his 54th birthday in the Tetouan royal palace.
The King’s visit comes after less than two months after his last visit to France.
The monarch owns a palace in the northern French municpality of Betz.
In addition to his formal visits to France and the French capital Paris, the King goes to France several times a year.
Back in May, he was receieved by the former French president François Hollande, a personal friend of the King.
In June, Hollande’s successor, President Emmanuel Macron, paid a two-day visit to Morocco.
The visit was described by the French media as “symbolic,” as Macron came to Morocco to meet the King in person
