Muslim Brotherhood members arrested in the United Arab Emirates have confessed to receiving financial and military aid from foreign communities. The UAE branch of the Muslim Brotherhood admitted to receiving 10 million Dirhams ($2.72 million) from its Gulf counterparts. They also confessed to plotting to seize power and establishing a religious state. Reports published in the newspaper “Emarat Alyoum” said the Muslim Brotherhood activists are being for tried for establishing clandestine organizations. The arrested members confirmed the group has been collecting funds from international organisations, foreign committees, local branches in every emirate , consultative and executive councils and military wings. They also admitted taking advantage of the Arab Spring events, according to media reports. They have been charged with forming an organization which harms the security of the state in their bid to harm political leaderships. The prosecution has also interrogated 60 detainees, who will be referred to the competent court, the report added.
