At least 30 civilians were killed and 50 injured including the district governor and his brother, when a suicide bomber blew himself at a funeral ceremony in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, an official said. “The incident took place in the Pakistan border Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province, and the attacker targeted Hamesha Gul, the district governor who was injured along with his brother and two policemen,” provincial spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai said, adding that the son of the district governor was among the dead. He blamed Taliban militants for the attack, saying a team has been sent to the area for investigation.
