Twenty-five soldiers were killed and four were lightly wounded in an explosion at military ammunition storage in western Turkey, the army announced on Thursday. The blast happened on Wednesday night at a military ammunition depot where hand grenades were stored. Environment Minister Veysel Eroglu said the explosion was most likely caused by an accident and not terrorism. It is thought many of the soldiers were trapped inside the building as fire fighters tackled the huge blaze. Nobody has yet been identified. The wounded have been sent to a military hospital for treatment.
