Turkey announced on Monday that it will not recognize the results of Kurdistan independence referendum which started today, asserting that it will consider the results null and void.
In a statement quoted by the ABC News, the Turkish Foreign Ministry called on the international community not to recognize the vote.
The ministry said that the Kurdish leaders threaten the peace and security of Iraq and the region as a whole, asserting the Ankara will take all the measures necessary to foil any attempts menacing its national security.
Voters started going to polling stations on Monday to cast their vote on Kurdistan independence referendum of the self-ruled Kurdistan region of Iraq.
