Unknown gunmen assassinate Yemeni muezzin in Hadramout

Unknown gunmen on Saturday assassinated a muezzin of a mosque in Hadramout province in eastern Yemen as he called for the dawn prayer. A local source in the province said that the gunmen opened fire on the muezzin Hassan Muhammad Hassan al-Hamid in the Directorate of Rakhieh in the province, which led to his death immediately, while the gunmen fled to an unknown destination.

The incident is the first of its kind in the province, which is known for its safety and lack of sectarian discrimination among its people. No one has claimed responsibility for the operation. Observers of security scene in Yemen said that the causes of some operations that targeted civilians, are the tribal conflicts, which grew in the absence of the security services.
