Unknown armed men assassinated a ranking officer in the intelligence security apparatus in midtown Sanaa, Yemeni Interior Ministry said on Monday. The ministry said, in a statement that armed men with machine guns riding a motorcycle fired at the Director of Political Security at the Eighth district, killing instantly Colonel Abdullah Ahmad Al-AShwal. The statement added security teams rushed to the scene and immediately opened up an investigation regarding the incident. The assassination is the 10th which targeted security officers in the Yemeni capital since the start of this year.
