Security authorities in the Jazan region, represented by the Sibya province police, have opened an investigation into the physical assault of a Saudi child by his maternal uncles using an electric wire, Al-Arabiya.net reported.
The assault caused a series of injuries on different parts of the boy’s body as he was brutally and savagely beaten which necessitated intervention by the authorities to take necessary action.
Earlier, a report came to the Sibya province police from the duty manager at Sibya Hospital on the arrival of a child with many injuries on his body as a result of an assault, the media spokesman of Jazan region police, Capt. Naif bin Abdulrahman Al-Hakami said.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities went to the hospital and after a general examination, they discovered that he was an 11-year-old boy who lives in Jahira village in Sibya province, he said.
The child told investigators that his uncle, 27, took him in his car, brought him to his house in the same village, and put him in a room. His other uncles came and assaulted him using electrical wires and, afterwards, threw him out of the house. He had no idea of what prompted the assault.
A medical examination showed multiple bruises on his back, pelvis, thighs, forearms, and chest. According to a medical report, his recovery will take 10 days unless complications emerge.
Al-Hakami said the suspects were arrested and the Public Prosecution was notified of the incident.
