Four police officers were killed in a NATO air attack in Afghanistan's eastern province of Kunar, the governor from neighboring Nuristan Province, Jamaluddin Badr, said on Monday. The strike took place on Sunday evening when NATO aviation attacked a police checkpoint in the Wama district, a mountainous area bordering Pakistan. Badr also said NATO ground forces arrested another 12 police after the strike. The governor condemned the strike and the arrests, saying Nuristan was short of police.
