Some 52,000 tons of commodities were exported via Mehran border crossing in Ilam province to Iraq during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21). Managing-Director of Ilam Standard and Industrial Research Center Masoud Javadi said cement, brick, methanol and mosaic were the main exported items to Iraq. Mehran border point is one of the main border crossings for pilgrims and also trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq. Mehran city is located 85 kilometers southwest of Ilam, the provincial capital of Ilam province.
